Men's Book Group

Men from all over the Jasper County library system are invited to join the men’s book group.

We meet at the Rensselaer Library on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10 am except in November and December when we meet the third Wednesday of the month to avoid conflicts with holidays.

Morning Movies at Wheatfield

This program, free and open to all interested adults, is held at 10 a.m. on a Thursday every month. It is usually the last Thursday, but winter holidays and other events can cause it to be a different one.  A variety of movies, newly released to DVD, are shown.  Popcorn and beverages are served.

Mother Goose Storytime

Age 0-23 months

Enjoy 30-40 minutes of reading, songs, fingerplays, and socialization with other yong children and their caregivers. Each session of Mother Goose Story Time consists of a variety of activities, such as music, stories, toys to play with and other fun movements.

STEAM Workshop

Combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, and what do you get? STEAM!

Come and explore robots, 3d building, circuitry, programming and other fun activities during the Rensselaer Library's next STEAM workshop.

Held the third Tuesday each month from 4-5pm, these programs are open to kids and teens in grades 3 and up.

Story Time

Ages 3-5

Bring your youngsters in touch with the love of reading by coming to Story Time for 3-5 Year Olds at the Wheatfield Library. Story Time is a wonderful opportunity for your youngsters to become acquainted with the library.

Each half hour long session of Story Time consists of stories, crafts, and other age appropriate activities.

Story Time

Ages 2-5

Library Kids and Toddlers alike are invited to enjoy stories, rhymes and crafts at the Rensselaer Library’s next Story Time.

This program, open to children ages 2-5, meets Tuesdays at 10 a.m. or Thursday at 6 p.m. every week except the last Tuesday and Thursday of the month. Registration is required, and seating is limited.

Super Stem

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math spell STEM!

STEM includes a variety of activities, including food science, robotics, arts and crafts, exercise fun and MORE!

Teen Program

Teens are invited to join us at 4pm the second Thursday of every month at the DeMotte Library during the school year.

This program is free and open to all interested teens. All materials will be provided. Space is limited.

Third Thursday Club

Open to grades 1-5, this monthly educational program includes reading plus fun food and craft activities relating to the theme.

Registration is required and space is limited. This program meets the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m.

Toddler Time

Ages 2-3

Reading to toddlers enhances their love of books and the magical characters that come alive for them, page after page.

Acquaint your 2 to 3-year-olds with the library and the love of reading by bringing them to Toddler Time.

This special program consists of stories, songs, crafts and other fun activities for this age group.
