April 14-20 is National Library Week. You may wonder to yourself what the big deal is. Well I’ll tell you why it’s a big deal. Libraries are awesome!
Your local library is a Mecca that leads you to culture, knowledge and just a place to hang out in general. You can find just about anything at the library whether it be books, movies, music, and stuff to do.
National Library Week also has an entire day devoted to celebrating teen literature: Thursday April 18th. Not adult literature. Not children’s literature. TEEN literature. That is how important teens are to the library; they get their own special day to celebrate and honor the brilliance that is teen literature.
Simply put…. teen literature is brilliant. It’s more than brilliant it is absorbing, deep, compassionate, eye-opening….it’s life changing. Teen literature today, for the most part, is meant to strike a chord. It is meant to grab your attention. It is supposed to make you think; to look at yourself and discover who you are.
There are so many great teen books out there just waiting to be read, talked about and celebrated. Thus a whole day devoted solely to teen literature.
Here are some teen titles that I have read….yes I am 26 years old and still read teen books…..teen literature is awesome.
