Mar. 29 - 1 RPL staff person has tested positive for Covid-19

Mar. 29, 2021: We recently received notice that a member of our staff at the Rensselaer Public Library has tested positive for the coronavirus, or COVID-19.  We have verified that the employee has been consistently following all appropriate sanitation protocols prior to the positive test, and the employee will, of course, remain off work for self-isolation per public health authority guidance.  This notice is part of our continuing efforts to engage in transparent and responsible communications with our fellow community members.  Of course, should you wish to consult public health officials and/or your own healthcare providers for guidance, we encourage you to do so.

We will continue to follow our COVID-19 plan of response and applicable guidelines, including (but not limited to):

  • Heightened cleaning and disinfecting
  • Maintaining social distancing
  • Implementing basic infection prevention measures
  • Utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Monitoring individual health and wellness

Your health and safety, as well as that of all our employees and patrons, is our top priority.  We deeply appreciate your trust and support as we continue to navigate the challenges we all face together amidst this pandemic.

If you have any questions for us, we encourage you to contact Patty Stringfellow, Library Director, at
