The Division of Family Resources (DFR) is responsible for establishing eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - food assistance) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF - cash assistance) benefits. Other programs include IMPACT Job Training, Head Start, Hoosier RX and more.

Immunization clinic is open on FRIDAYS ONLY from 8:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-3:30pm, serving children from infant through 18 years of age. Summer clinic hours will be available before the start of a new school year and can be found on their website.

The Call Specilaist will refer and educate about government programs, community-based organizations, support groups, and other local resources.Serving Lake, Porter, Newton, Jasper, Starke, and Pulaski Counties, NWI 2-1-1 is operated by Northwest Indiana Community Action and is part of North America's 211 service initiative.
