Madam Rosmerta's Butterbeer cupcakes

In preparing for a Harry Potter-themed party, a staff member this week introduced the rest of us to the wonders of Madam Rosmerta's Butterbeer Cupcakes.

April 14-20 is National Library Week. You may wonder to yourself what the big deal is.  Well I’ll tell you why it’s a big deal.  Libraries are awesome!

Once in a blue moon,” you “go for broke” and “race against the clock” to find that perfect book to read, and when you do, you realize that you “can’t judge a book by its cover,” because as you read it, you think to yourself, “it’s all Greek to me.”

Special Days in March

Book Trailers 101

If you love movies (and I do!) when you go to the movies one of the best parts, at least for me- are the trailers for the upcoming new movie releases.

Scrolling through some Internet sites, I came across this definition of love: “Love is a wildly misunderstood, although highly desirable, malfunction of the heart, which weakens the brain, causes the eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.”

This quote, written by an unknown author, is the very definition of the “L” word in most households, and also in mine, unless ham is the chosen meal for that particular day.

A little bit of kindness can go a long way…

Think of a time when someone was unexpectedly kind to you. Were you caught off guard and surprised by their kindness? Random Acts of kindness can often considerably brighten a person’s day and leave a lasting impression. Kindness can make the world a much better place to live.
